Dr. Michelle A. Verhave has been reviewed and approved as a NY Top Dentist based on merit for 2026. With more than four decades of experience and a lifelong commitment to compassionate care, Dr. Verhave has built a distinguished career centered on improving quality of life through dentistry.
Dr. Verhave earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Cornell University in 1980 before receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Columbia University in 1985. Shortly after completing her education, she founded Home Dental Care, a practice devoted to bringing dental care directly to elderly and disabled patients in the comfort of their homes and long-term care facilities. Her mission has always been rooted in accessibility, dignity, and helping patients maintain both their oral health and independence.
Recognized for her dedication to patient-centered care, Dr. Verhave received the American Dental Association’s “Access to Patient Care Award” for her efforts to expand dental access for underserved populations. Her philosophy is simple yet deeply meaningful: helping patients remain comfortable, improve their quality of life, and continue enjoying the foods and routines that matter most to them.
In addition to her mobile care work, Dr. Verhave continues to treat patients at her private general dentistry practice, Michelle A. Verhave, DDS, PC, in Purdys, New York, where she provides personalized care with a compassionate touch.
A respected leader in the dental field, Dr. Verhave is a lifetime member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and has completed more than 1,000 hours of continuing education throughout her career. Her dedication to clinical excellence and service has earned her numerous honors, including recognition from the United States Olympic Committee for Outstanding Support of the USOC Dental Program, Professional Dental Technologies for Dental Leadership, and the United Concordia Outstanding Service Award.
Dr. Verhave has also been recognized by organizations including the American Biographical Institute as “Woman of the Year,” Trademark Top Doctors of America for “Honor Edition,” Colgate Dental Health Advisory Board for “Furthering Patient Education,” Consumer Research Council of America’s “America’s Top Dentists,” NY Top Dentists, and Who’s Who in America.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Verhave enjoys outdoor recreational activities year-round and resides in North Salem, New York.
