Andrew Peretz, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery. Since joining Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group in 1997, Dr. Peretz has been committed to helping patients of all ages overcome spinal disorders and return to active, pain-free lives.
Dr. Peretz earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Princeton University and went on to receive his medical degree from the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and advanced his expertise with a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Institute for Spinal Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Recognized as a leader in his field, Dr. Peretz is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the North American Spine Society and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also contributes to professional organizations including the Medical Society of New York State, the Medical Society of Westchester County, and the American Medical Association. His academic work includes co-authoring numerous research publications on spinal disorders and surgical advancements.
Dr. Peretz serves as Director of the Spinal Institute at Putnam Hospital Center and also holds a leadership role at Northern Westchester Hospital. In addition, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he continues to mentor the next generation of orthopaedic specialists.
