Dr. Hussain’s care philosophy focuses on utilizing every effective non-surgical option before considering operative intervention, addressing conditions involving the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and spine. Dr. Hussain’s expertise extends to treating a wide range of patients, from elite athletes and professional fighters to weekend warriors and individuals with non-sports-related orthopedic concerns.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Hussain is deeply involved in sports and community medicine. He has served as a team physician for high school, collegiate, and professional sports teams, as well as for combat athletes and professional dancers. His role as a Ringside Physician for boxing, wrestling, MMA, and kickboxing events highlights his commitment to athlete safety. In addition, he has volunteered as a medical captain for major endurance events such as the NYC Marathon, IRONMAN®, Tough Mudder®, Muay Thai, and UFC Fight Nights®, ensuring the well-being of participants at every level.
Academically, Dr. Hussain completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Northwell Health – North Shore University Hospital after earning his Family Medicine Residency at NYU Langone Hospital. He is dual board-certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. As an educator, he has taught musculoskeletal ultrasound at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and currently serves as Core Teaching Faculty for the Northwell Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. His scholarly work includes research presentations at national conferences and publications in The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.
