Dr. Capo is a strong advocate for office-based sinus and nasal care and has become one of Long Island’s most experienced sinus doctors. He firmly believes that nearly every patient who requires a sinus or nasal procedure should be offered an office-based approach. This method is not only safer and eliminates the need for general anesthesia, but it also results in significantly less bleeding, faster recovery, and reduced healthcare costs.
The Capo Nose and Sinus Center is equipped with state-of-the-art, operating room-grade equipment, including neuro-navigation systems, which are typically only available in operating rooms but are now standard in Dr. Capo’s office-based procedures. The center also features an in-office CT scanner, which streamlines the patient experience by eliminating the need for additional appointments and co-pays with external radiologists—a requirement for obtaining CT scans prior to sinus procedures.
Dr. Capo’s extensive training includes a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, where he focused much of his work on treating patients with sinus and nasal disorders.
Dr. Capo’s expertise has earned him national recognition. He and the Capo Nose and Sinus Center were selected as a national Center of Excellence—the only center in the Northeast to receive this designation. As a leader in the field, Dr. Capo lectures nationally and hosts other ENT surgeons, teaching them how to master office-based sinus and nasal procedures. His work is helping to lead the transition from traditional operating room-based sinus surgery to more modern, office-based approaches, which he believes will significantly improve patient outcomes across Long Island and nationwide.
