Dr. Carlesi further honed his expertise with a fellowship in pain management at Albany Medical Center and St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York. He went on to open his own pain management practice in Stamford, which quickly expanded to Danbury, Connecticut. As the Medical Director of Pain Management Associates of Connecticut, Dr. Carlesi leads a multidisciplinary team focused on providing innovative treatments for chronic pain.
With extensive training in various pain management techniques, Dr. Carlesi specializes in treatments such as epidural steroid injections, facet injections, and joint injections. Dr. Carlesi emphasizes the importance of treating pain as a legitimate medical condition. “Only in the last decade has the medical community begun to embrace pain as a disease that needs to be treated on its own,” he explains. “The American Pain Foundation estimates that 100 million Americans have chronic pain, and of those, only a quarter is properly treated. My practice is committed to helping our patients with the right approach — manage their pain so they may continue to function at the highest level possible.”
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Carlesi serves on the Medical Board of Physicians for Connecticut’s Medical Marijuana Program, where he certifies patients for medical marijuana use to help alleviate pain and other symptoms.
