Joseph Batac, MD, FACS
Joseph Batac, MD, FACS is a member of Summit Health’s Plastic Surgery team. Dr. Batac was drawn to a career in healthcare at a young age, fascinated by the prospect of positively impacting people’s lives through medicine.
Dr. Batac performs aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery as well as orthopedic surgery of the hand. He specializes in aesthetic surgical and non-surgical interventions for the face, breast, and body. He is also skilled in skin cancer reconstruction, breast cancer reconstruction, and body contouring after weight loss surgery. In the realm of hand surgery, he treats bony fractures, tendon injuries, and nerve issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
Dr. Batac’s philosophy is to create a patient-centered, holistic experience. He strives to provide first-class, personalized care to all his patients. “During your visit, you can expect to have all your goals and concerns addressed. We will then take the time to create an individualized treatment plan that fits you,” says Dr. Batac.
Dr. Batac finds great joy in his work, feeling truly privileged to have the opportunity and skill to achieve the post-operative results his patient’s desire. Outside of work, he enjoys golf and traveling. He has also been recently approved as a 2024 NY Top Doctor.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Batac. Within 2 hours of having gotten bit in the face by a dog leaving me with a 2 inch laceration under my right eye, Dr. Batac met me in the Emergency Room at Huntington Hospital to tend to my wound. He was friendly and upbeat. He explained everything that he was doing clearly. He was extremely delicate and gentle with my face and wound. Today, I returned to get my sutures out and the remaining scar is minimal and will only improve with time. I am so grateful to him, and his assistant, Michelle Fortus, plus the whole staff for making this unfortunate accident a pleasant experience. And I am very hopeful that all that will remain is a bad memory not any facial disfigurement and that is because of the skilled hands of Dr. Batac! I highly recommend him for your plastic surgery needs!
Dr. Batac is the consummate professional. My wife’s pinky was broken in 2 places and she had many stitches on the front and back of her hand as well as a cast for 4 weeks. He was a very thoughtful and kind man who took time to answer any questions we had and to walk us through exactly what was happening every step of the way. I would highly recommend him as not only an excellent Dr. But as a patient and kind human being. His whole staff were friendly and always willing to help and answer our questions.
