Since 1986, Advanced Dermatology, P.C. and the Center for Laser & Cosmetic Surgery has been offering a wide array of medical, cosmetic, laser and plastic surgery services. Dr. Anthony Taglienti

Dr. Taglienti is an Ivy-league trained, board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. As a “head-to-toe” plastic surgeon, he performs eyelid lifts, nose jobs, chin implants, facelifts, necklifts, breast implants, lifts, reductions, and reconstruction; and all body procedures, including liposuction, tummy tucks, and fat transfer. He prides himself on his meticulous surgical skills and patient interactions. Dr. Taglienti is also an expert in facial and body injectable treatments and non-invasive body sculpting techniques, such as CoolSculpting.

Dr. Aza Lefkowitz

Dr. Lefkowitz’s practice is primarily surgical. With his precision and expertise, he is especially well regarded for the exceptional and cosmetically elegant way in which he repairs his patients’ Mohs defects. Board-certified in both Dermatology and Mohs Microsurgery, Dr. Lefkowitz has been a member of Advanced Dermatology and the Center for Laser and Cosmetic Surgery since 2001.

Dr. Dale Abadir is a board-certified dermatologist and an Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein Medical Center where she teaches surgery to Dermatology residents.

Dr. David Erstein

• Dr. David Erstein is the founder of Allergy and Asthma Wellness. He holds certification from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Erstein has notable expertise in nasal and ocular allergies, sinusitis, asthma, and anaphylaxis. In addition, he is an expert in evaluating food and medication allergies, cosmetic allergies, diseases of the skin, insect sting reactions, and latex allergy. Dr. Derek V. Chan

• At Boston University, his research focused on the development of innovative therapies to target specific cancer cells using recombinant fusion proteins. He is a reviewer for Archives of Dermatology and Clinical Cancer Research. He has spoken at several national and international meetings, has received NIH grant funding, and has published in several key peer-reviewed journals, including JAMA Dermatology and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Harold Mermelstein

• Dr. Harold Mermelstein is a Board Certified Dermatologist, and Associate Clinical Professor, Dermatology Department of New York University’s Medical Center Skin and Cancer Unit. He is a native New Yorker, and Dr. Mermelstein’s education and training span some of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

Dr. Hirshel Kahn

• Hirshel Kahn, MD is a native of Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Kahn is certified by the American Board of Pathology, the American Board of Dermatology and by the American Board of Dermatology and Pathology with a special qualification in Dermatopathology. His special interests include skin cancer, psoriasis and hair loss. He also has extensive experience in Botox and Dermal Fillers.

Dr. David H. Solomon

• Dr. Solomon currently serves patients of Forest Hills, Queens and the surrounding area. During in his decades-long career, he has focused mainly on medical dermatology, including the diagnosis and treating seborrheic dermatitis, benign and cancerous skin lesions, and ringworm. In addition to treating skin conditions, he also performs cosmetic procedures such as laser treatments and skin-enhancing injectable treatments.

Dr. Jason S. Applebaum

• Dr. Applebaum joined Advanced Dermatology and the Center for Laser and Cosmetic Surgery in 1999. During his post-graduate training in Chicago, Dr. Applebaum conducted extensive research in his field, particularly in the area of melanoma, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of the National Cancer Institute. He has presented his findings at multiple conferences of the Chicago Dermatologic Society. With extensive training and experience in laser surgery and cosmetic surgery, Dr. Applebaum specializes in facial rejuvenation and scar treatment.

Dr. Jerome M. Felsenstein

• Dr. Felsenstein is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at New York University School of Medicine. He is affiliated with Tisch NYU hospital medical center and Bellevue hospital center.

• Dr. John F. Gallagher runs Long Island’s premier clinic for vein treatment services and helps patients deal with varicose veins, spider veins, and various other vein issues. As part of Advanced Dermatology’s growing capabilities, Dr. Gallagher’s revolutionary techniques can help relieve discomfort, improve appearance, and enhance your venous health. For over 30 years, Dr. John F. Gallagher has been practicing General and Vascular Surgery, including patient care, resident training and clinical research. He is a Board Certified General and Vascular Surgeon, as well as past President of the Eastern Long Island Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. For over 15 years, he served as the Director of Surgery at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Dr. Gallagher has narrowed down his concentration over the past few years to the treatment of all kinds of venous disease. He now conducts seminars and on-site training for physicians interested in venous disease, along with a clinical study comparing the efficiency of laser and sclerotherapy for the treatment of spider veins. • Dr. Meryl Joerg is an internationally trained cosmetic dermatologist and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Cosmetic Dermatology Clinic at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Having studied fine arts and sculpture in Italy, and completed a dermatology externship in Paris, she uses her artistic eye to help her patients achieve a more youthful appearance. Dr. Robert S. Levine

• Dr. Levine became board certified in Family Practice at Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, NY and later became dually board certified in Dermatology. Dr. Suzanne J. Friedler

• Dr. Friedler offers patients state-of-the-art procedures including Fraxel non-ablative resurfacing, skin tightening, endovenous laser vein treatment and general laser therapy for scars, tattoos, hair removal, rosacea, stretch marks, acne, melasma, brown spots, angiomas, and many other conditions.
