Dr. Andrew N. Goodfriend
Dr. Andrew N. Goodfriend is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care with a focus on cataract surgery, glaucoma care, diabetic eye care, and vision correction. He is dedicated to helping patients maintain healthy vision through personalized care and treatment options tailored to their individual needs.
Dr. Goodfriend earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1992. He completed his medical internship through a primary care program in Rochester, New York, before completing his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He became board certified in ophthalmology in 1997.
Dr. Goodfriend provides cataract surgery, including presbyopia correction with premium intraocular lenses that may reduce the need for reading glasses following surgery. His areas of care also include glaucoma management and surgery, diabetic eye examinations, and laser procedures designed to improve vision and potentially reduce dependence on glasses.
He also offers comprehensive eye examinations to evaluate vision and monitor overall eye health. Through a thoughtful and individualized approach, Dr. Goodfriend strives to provide patients with quality eye care focused on protecting their vision and supporting their long-term eye health.
