Dr. Elaine F. Kung
Dr. Elaine F. Kung brings a unique combination of medical expertise, academic achievement, and a thoughtful approach to both medical and aesthetic dermatology. Born in Hong Kong and raised in New York City from the age of six, she graduated at the top of her class from Stuyvesant High School before earning her bachelor’s degree in biology, magna cum laude, from Yale College. She went on to receive her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, where her interest in dermatology began to take shape.
Dr. Kung completed her dermatology residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where her work in tissue engineering research earned recognition from the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the World Congress of Dermatology. Her experience in research continues to inform her thoughtful, evidence-based approach to patient care.
In 2010, Dr. Kung founded Future Bright Dermatology in Lower Manhattan, where she has cared for a diverse community of patients with a wide range of skin concerns. Alongside medical dermatology, she has developed a particular interest in aesthetic treatments, including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, laser and energy-based procedures, facial rejuvenation with TriLift, and hair restoration using the Alma TED device. Her goal is to help patients achieve natural-looking results while maintaining the health and integrity of their skin.
Dr. Kung has also been part of the academic community for more than a decade as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at NYP-Weill Cornell Medical Center. A lifelong learner, she earned a Master’s in Management from Harvard University during the pandemic and continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing study in cosmetic science.

Dr Kung her entire team are fantastic. From the moment you walk in, everyone is friendly and welcoming, which makes you feel completely at ease and comfortable — not always a given at a dermatologist’s office! Dr. Kung gerself is super nice and genuinely helpful, taking the time to explain things clearly and never rushing through appointments. What really stands out is how far she goes above and beyond for her patients. When I had a graze, she took great care of it even though it wasn’t a scheduled treatment. I’ve also had laser treatments done here, and she offers a great range of skin treatments overall, so it’s nice having one trusted place for everything. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a dermatologist who’s skilled, attentive, and just genuinely cares about her patients.
Dr. Kung and her entire staff are absolutely amazing! I 100% hate having to go to any doctor, but from beginning to end, she and her staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. Dr. Kung was so easy-going, knowledgeable and calm. She also had a great sense of humor and I left feeling like I had been heard and not rushed out, as is so common with other doctors. The best part, was when calling for the appointment, she was able to see me that same day and during my lunch hour, so I didn’t have to miss work or wait for days for an appt. I truly felt like she cared about my comfort and that my questions were answered. She even followed up the next day! It’s so hard finding doctors you’re comfortable with and I am so grateful to have found Dr. Kung.
