Dr. Scott Chudnoff
Scott Chudnoff, MD is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and nationally recognized leader in women’s health, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and academic medicine. He currently serves as Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center, where he leads efforts to advance comprehensive, patient-centered care for women at every stage of life.
Prior to joining Maimonides, Dr. Chudnoff served as Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Stamford Health in Connecticut and previously held the role of Director of Gynecology at Montefiore Medical Center. He is also a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he contributes to the education and mentorship of future physicians.
A Brooklyn native, Dr. Chudnoff earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Yeshiva University, his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and a Master of Clinical Science from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed both his residency training and fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, developing specialized expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures.
Dr. Chudnoff has dedicated his career to improving women’s health through innovative surgical care, evidence-based treatment, and compassionate patient relationships. His clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, menopause management, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, and other complex gynecologic conditions affecting quality of life.
As a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Chudnoff remains actively involved in leading professional organizations dedicated to gynecologic surgery, reproductive medicine, and women’s health.
For Dr. Chudnoff, serving at Maimonides is especially meaningful: born at the institution himself, he now leads the very department that played a role in the beginning of his own story.
