Dr. William Lao, a double-board-certified plastic surgeon in both the USA and Taiwan, is known for delivering personalized, naturally stunning results that reflect his unwavering commitment to patient care. Throughout his career, Dr. Lao has honed his surgical precision, refined his technical expertise, and developed a keen aesthetic eye.

A distinguished leader in his field, Dr. Lao has received numerous accolades for his skill and research contributions. His work has been published in top medical journals, covering a wide range of topics including aesthetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and oral cancer. He has also become a sought-after educator, sharing his knowledge through presentations that inspire ongoing research and innovation.

Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Lao’s global perspective began early—he completed high school in Vancouver, Canada, before moving to the United States to attend the renowned Johns Hopkins University. There, he earned a double major in biomedical engineering and computer science, followed by a Doctorate of Medicine.

Dr. Lao then went on to complete six years of intensive residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His pursuit of excellence continued with a coveted aesthetic surgery fellowship under Dr. Sherrell J. Aston in New York.

Afterward, Dr. Lao took on a leadership role as an attending physician at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei before returning to New York to establish his own private practice.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lao has become an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is also a founding member of the Asian Society for Breast Plastic Reconstructive Surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Lao has completed advanced fellowships in reconstructive microsurgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan and in aesthetic surgery at the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) and New York University (NYU) in the USA.
